10 Tips To Get The Wardrobe You Want

As my days of living in the U.S were coming to an end, I could not help but over-indulge in one of the fun activities this wonderful country has to offer – shopping. Even when you think that there is absolutely nothing you could possibly add to your closet, the wonders of American shopping malls, discount stores and online shopping websites will convince you about the contrary. It is a beautiful jungle of fashionable stuff out there with traps waiting to catch every passing-by fashionista. However, that is why it is so important to think twice so you don’t waste your money and end up with useless stuff cluttering your closet.

1.Think quality not quantity.
2.Don’t buy the same thing over and over again.
3.Think about your style and not just whether you like a certain item.
4.Avoid certain brands that have disappointed you multiple times before.
5.Ask yourself whether you want to wear it next day.
6.Think about your age (If you can wait till you are 50 years old to buy it, do it ;)
7.Leave the store if you are not sure. (You can always come back.)
8.Narrow down your pics. (Leave some stuff in the store and get only couple of the best items.)
9.Better dressy than casual. (It’s no faux pais to show up somewhere in the same sweatpants twice.)
10. Ask for advice.  (Read dem online reviews.)

Hello from Praha

Dear friends, I know I have been MIA here, on the blog, lately :(. Since living the continental life in Prague and etc., I have to admit, fashion took rather an unimportant place in my life. Unfortunately, street style is terrible here in Prague and people for all the partying are too busy to think about what’s in style or not. Most of the shops suck and well..it’s a different world out here. But, I will do my best to get back on track ;)

Why Does Kate Moss Rule?

Looking at this Parisian lady's outfit makes me realize why Kate Moss's style is so popular...
Because...just like this young lady, Kate Moss dresses in simple, chick, cute, girly and most importantly very very very effortless fashion. If you look like you just got up from bed, threw on something feminine, simple, with very few accessories, you will look awesome. So, the lesson is...keep it simple dear ladies.

Brave Red by Mac

Dear ladies, don't be afraid of wearing lipstick. It adds color to your face ;)
My latest discovery: Brave Red by Mac

If you have a golden/yellow undertone to your skin (look good in golden jewelery, tan to a golden brown color and have green veins) this shade will brighten up your skin.

This is how I wore it:

For those of you who have rather blue skin undertones you can try one of these shades:
Russian Red, Ruby Woo, Dubonnet, MAC Red, and Viva Glam I.

The Must-Have Skinny Jeans

If you were to buy only one pair of skinny jeans, I suggest you go for these super comfortable and cute J-Brands, in the Starless color. In summer they look great with flats or flip flops and in winter you can wear them with boots. These are a must-have ladies.

Cross Body Bags

During my recent visit to Seattle I have noticed that many local ladies were sporting cross body bags while strolling around town. Cross body bags are comfy and look great with skinny jeans, blazer and flats or boots.

Jessica Alba's Fashionable Winter

Even though I am not a big fan of Jessica's busy summer style, somehow her layering tendencies really worked for her this winter:

My Easter Outfit

A special part of my wardrobe is dedicated to what I call "Family Dinner tops". I bet you know the feeling ..holidays are approaching, you are about to meet the female half of your extended family you see only during those few festive times of the year, and you have a closet full of cotton T-shirts and strapless night club stuff. (Note that I just admitted to "dressing for women" as I can't help but notice that most men could care less about fashion, well of course till it comes to high heels or short skirts.)
It is during these times of year, such as Christmas or Easter, when I start desperately browsing different websites for that cute, comfy, conservative top to wear to family dinner. This Easter I got especially lucky having found this adorable top for $20 on sale at Banana Republic. It is a bit Soccer Mom-ish but if you don't pair it with a Coach purse but rather a pair of high-waisted skinny jeans, like I did, it works.

T-Bags Neck Tie Blouse

I know I have blogged about this blouse before, but just so you know it was this Parisian fashionista's fault that I actually ended up purchasing it. Look at her (the mademoiselle on the left), isn't her style just awesomely feminine and chic?

Not the same blouse, but close :)

Also, now I finally understand why LeAnn Rimes is sooo skinny these days. She got that blouse too and she ended up with no money left for food...

Paper Bag Bag

Several years back, in my restaurant days, I had a coworker who would, on daily basis, carry her belongings in a paper bag instead of wearing a regular purse. Whether she made such a poor fashion choice due to lack of money or just out of pure laziness shall remain forever unknown. However, something tells me ..that even my former coworker would not go for this leather version of a paper bag purse:

New Best Accessory: Rebel Lipstick by Mac

Back from my vacation, relaxed and tan (Yes Juli, even with SPF 50 I managed to get a bit color ;-)), I was challenged to figure out how to add some color to my birthday outfit. Since I was turning thirty, I figured I might as well take an advantage of the impending old age and run to the mall to figure out if I could pull off wearing a bright pink lipstick (I tried doing that about a decade ago without any success). I knew the color had to be something between red and pink, bold but without being too vampy looking. Sales people in Mac didn't have any  good recommendations, so I had to "roll up my sleeves" and do the dirty work myself. And this is what I came up with:

Rebel Lipstick, Mac, $14.50
This lipstick is an amazing shade to brighten up your skin tone and to perfectly accessorize any outfit that needs a little splash of color.
